WHAT IS THE CHURCH DENOMINATION?

We are an inter-denominational institution.

HOW ARE WE FUNDED?

Angels Care KZN, Sezela struggles to eke out a living. We depend solely on the kindness and generosity of outside donors and people with a compassion for the needy. We receive no Government support at all.

WHO IS ABLE TO STAY?

The destitute, homeless, abandoned: both adults and woman with children at the Boards’ discretion.

HOW LONG ARE RESIDENTS PERMITED TO STAY?

People stay a period depending on their individual recovery capabilities. Residents that are past retirement age and function well within the centre are seldom asked to leave. However we are not a frail care centre. We do not have the facilities to cater for this so we try not to encourage the admission of those requiring full-time nursing care.

At present the maximum capacity is 70.

DO RESIDENTS HAVE TO BE OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH IN ORDER TO STAY?

No, but in order to stay at Angels Care KZN, Sezela all residents are required to attend morning devotions and Sunday morning Church.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR STAFF?

Some residents function well as volunteers in a supervisory capacity; overseers, drivers etc. We also have a supply of outside volunteers.

HOW DO PEOPLE GET TO STAY AT THE SHELTER?

People come by word of mouth, from other shelters, from churches and hospitals or law enforcement officers.

WHAT DOES ANGELS CARE PROVIDE RESIDENTS WITH?

We provide mostly temporary accommodation, food, clothing, bedding and access to doctors, clinics, hospitals and social service departments. However, we do have those that have been with us since the beginning days. Nobody has an “expiry date” with regards to residency.
